Sample Data
Installing the Sample Data File:
Before installing Quicken 2010, we ask that you first download and install the sample data file.
Note: If you plan to use Quicken 2010 for online banking or online investment tracking functionality with your own financial institutions, please do not install the sample data file. You will need to use your personal Quicken data file instead and we recommend that you make a backup first.
- Click Here to download the self-extracting Quicken Sample Data File, save it to your computer and follow the instructions below.
- Once you've downloaded the zipped sample data file, go to "Q2010DemoData.exe" and double-click the file to open it. The WinZip® Self-Extractor window will appear.
- Click the Unzip or Extract button. The Extract dialog will appear, select OK to finish.
- The sample data files will be decompressed and loaded into a folder called "C:\Quicken2010DemoData".
- Click the Close button at the top right corner to close the WinZip® Self-Extractor.
To open the sample data file from Quicken:
- Select Open from the File menu.
- Navigate to the directory where you extracted the files. Open the folder "Quicken Demo Data" You will see the data file to open, "Q2010 Demo.QDF". If you are using your own personal Quicken data, the converted file should be located in the same directory as your previously stored Quicken data.
- Double-click the sample data file ("Q2010 Demo.QDF"). Quicken will load the sample data file and bring you to the Quicken Homepage.
- If Quicken displays a Product Registration message, click the Register Later button. Although registration is required to use most online features in Quicken Premier 2010, you will not need to register the product to experience the benefits of the features showcased in the Quicken 2010 Sample Data file.
